Yamaha RX-V3900 Receivers
The Yamaha RX-V3900BL 7.1-Channel Network Home Theater Receiver is versatile and offers Bluetooth and iPod compatibility, access to Rhapsody and internet radio, is SIRIUS and XM satellite radio ready, and can stream directly from a computer.
This high quality and versatile receiver isn't perfect, though. Here are both the pros and the cons.
The most important feature is the sound quality, and here the Yamaha RX-V3900BL shines. It has several audio processing choices which allows the sound to be excellent whether it is used for movies, music, or other audio.
The video upscaling also excels. Use the HDMI to HDMI up-conversion to improve picture quality. It doesn't lack for device connections, so anyone can use it to play audio through their favorite devices.
On the negative side, the Yamaha RX-V3900BL Receiver lacks built-in wireless networking. While that might reduce audio signal degradation, it is inconvenient to consumers who do not set up their stereo system next to their router.
This can be worked around by purchasing a wireless adapter that plugs into the Ethernet port. Setting up and configuring the receiver will take some time, especially if you don't have much experience.
Once it is finished, however, it is easy to use. The price puts it out of many consumers' reach, but it does offer good value if you can afford it.
If you don't need wireless or are willing to work around it, the Yamaha RX-V3900BL Receiver offers rich sound, great video upscaling, and a plethora of device connections.
